Making Pet Relocation Easier for Families
Global Pet Relocation is the pet division of Global Cargo Services, a logistics company founded in 1994. Several of our senior team are pet parents, and in 1999 friends began asking for help taking their dogs and cats abroad. Airline rules, government regulations and health paperwork had made the process confusing and stressful for them, so we set out to master it.
Since 2000 we have helped hundreds of pet parents every year move their pets out of India and into India, for work postings, studies or a permanent move. Every relocation starts with your destination’s rules: vaccinations, microchipping, blood tests, health certificates and import permits, all in the right order and within the right windows.
From there we arrange the travel kennel, book the flight as accompanied baggage or manifested cargo, handle export customs and coordinate arrival. You get a clear plan, honest timelines and one consultant who answers your questions.

International Pet Relocation
Moving abroad, or moving to India from overseas? We plan the whole journey around the importing country’s rules. Your pet can fly as accompanied baggage, booked with your own ticket in cabin or hold depending on breed, route and airline, or as manifested cargo travelling independently of you. We prepare country-specific documents, book the flight, clear export or import customs, and keep you updated at every stage.
Travel Kennel
The travel kennel is your pet’s home for the journey, and airlines reject kennels that are the wrong size or build. We help you measure your pet, select an airline-compliant kennel and fit it correctly. We also share a simple plan for getting your pet used to it in the weeks before travel, so the kennel feels familiar on flight day rather than frightening.
Veterinary and Boarding
We work with established veterinary hospitals and boarding facilities across India. If your pet needs vaccinations, microchipping or a health certificate before travel, or a safe place to stay while you move ahead of them, we can recommend a reliable vet or boarding house that suits your pet’s needs and fits your travel timeline.
Ground Transportation
Air-conditioned vehicles and pet-friendly drivers take your pet between home, the vet, boarding and the airport. Ground transport is often part of an international move, for pick-up before departure or delivery after arrival, and we can also arrange it on its own. We plan routes and timings around your pet’s comfort and the airline’s check-in deadlines.
Blood Test (Rabies Titre)
Many countries require a rabies antibody blood test, followed by a waiting period, before a pet from India may enter. We manage it end to end: collecting the sample, coordinating with approved laboratories and vets, and tracking the final report. Planning this step early is often the difference between travelling on your chosen date and waiting months longer.

How international pet relocation from India works
Taking a dog or cat abroad means meeting two sets of rules: the importing country’s health and documentation requirements, and the airline’s rules on breeds, kennels and booking. Most countries ask for an ISO-compatible microchip, a current rabies vaccination and a veterinary health certificate issued within a set number of days before travel. Many also require a rabies antibody (titre) blood test from an approved laboratory, followed by a waiting period before the pet may enter.
Accompanied baggage or manifested cargo?
Pets can travel as accompanied baggage, booked against the owner’s ticket in the cabin or hold, or as manifested cargo, travelling on their own flight. Which option is allowed depends on the destination, the airline, the route and your pet’s size and breed. Some countries, such as the UK and UAE, generally accept pets only as manifested cargo.
How far ahead should you plan?
For destinations without a blood test requirement, a few weeks may be enough. Where a titre test and waiting period apply, allow three to six months; Australia and New Zealand can take longer. Starting early leaves room for vaccination timing, laboratory turnaround and flight availability, especially in summer when heat embargoes restrict pet travel.
Bringing pets into India
Pets entering India need a valid health certificate and vaccination records, and may need a no-objection certificate and inspection through Animal Quarantine and Certification Services on arrival. Our in-house customs team handles import clearance at the airport so your pet is released as quickly as the process allows.

Is air travel safe for my pet?
Air travel is the most common way pets relocate internationally. Pets travel in suitable pressurised, temperature-controlled aircraft compartments, with airline and ground staff trained to handle animals. Your consultant checks the route, carrier and your pet’s travel requirements.
Should my pet be sedated for the flight?
Sedation can be risky at high altitude, and many airlines will not accept sedated pets. Discuss any medication with your veterinarian and airline.
What documents does my pet need?
It varies by country. Vaccination records and a health certificate are almost always required; many destinations also need a microchip, a rabies blood test and an import permit. Our consultants will give you the exact list for your route.
When should I feed my pet before the flight?
